Arsenal player to miss out on career saving transfer because of high wage demand

Arsenal’s outcast Mathieu Debuchy set to remain with the Gunners after French club Nice pulled out of a deal to bring him back to the Ligue 1.

The defender who has had an injury-ravaged stint at the Emirate Stadium since he moved from Newcastle in the summer of 2014 was close to joining the Champions League campaigners, but Talk Sport is reporting that the deal looks dead after he made what the club considers an outrageous wage demand.

Coming from the Premier League Debuchy would understandably be on a high salary, but if he wants to save his career he would have to lower his wage demand. Another way to get him to leave the Gunners is for them to agree to subsidise his wage for the remaining two years of his current contract with them.

Arsenal are in no mood to help any player anymore as the failure of last season highlighted the fact that the club had many players who cannot be trusted to help them achieve their goals.
