Online media is reporting that Arsenal have set their sights on signing Juventus Brazilian left back, Alex Sandro.
The full-back is one of the most consistent left backs in Europe right now and has helped the Turin based side reach the Italian cup and Champions League final as well as winning the Serie A title.
Arsenal have struggled in defence this season, and their left back position is particularly problematic for them, with Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs both failing to impress in that position.
Arsene Wenger is set to sign a more permanent solution to that position. The Frenchman has a lot of players he is targeting, but Sandro tops his list.
The Gunners will, however, face serious competition from Real Madrid and Manchester City for the defender.
Real Madrid is set to allow Fabio Coentrao leave this summer, and want Sandro to provide competition for Marcelo.
Manchester City will not be extending the contract of Gael Clichy, and Pep Guardiola sees Sandro as the ideal player to take up the Frenchman’s position.
