Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez may have to forget about a reunion with his former manager Pep Guardiola next season as the Gunners remain unrelenting in their promise to not sell him to a rival.
Sanchez is entering into the final 12 months of his Arsenal deal and has made an outrageous salary demand on the Gunners in a deliberate effort to force through a move away from the Emirates Stadium. However, the Gunners will only listen to offers from abroad.
The interest from Manchester City is particularly a resentful one for the Gunners who have lost some of their best players to the Citizens over the years. Bayern Munich had entered the race for the Chilean’s signature early in the summer transfer window but was priced out of a deal for the soon-to-be 29 years old.
It is likely the Gunners will get their wish to keep him for at least one more season, as many close friends and relatives have begun to feel the Chilean will remain at the Emirate Stadium this season and leave for free in 2018.
