Arsenal have identified Everton’s Idrissa Gueye as the man to help them address their defensive problems. Wenger admitted last week that the Gunners have defensive flaws. He strongly considers Gueye as the player who can be their own N’golo Kante.

Wenger has been busy identifying transfer targets despite knowing his contract is up at the end of this season. He trusts Coquelin but feels that Gueye is a closer alternative to Chelsea’s Kante, and his work rate would help them address their defensive lapses.

Wenger admitted that the club has enough quality in their attack, but are lacking the same quality in defence.

Gueye was the only stand out player for Aston Villa last season. Despite his team’s bad overall performance, his statistics stood him out and earned him a transfer to Everton.

He has continued from where he left off at Villa, and has been one of the most outstanding players for the Merseyside team this season.

Everton have enough money to keep their players happy, and they seem unlikely to sanction a move for the player.
It is left to be seen if the Senegalese would want a move to London.
