According to reports, Arsenal have step up their interest in Sunderland goalie, Jordan Pickford. The keeper has been in outstanding form for the black cats despite their troubles with relegation.
As Sunderland are likely going down to the championship as they continue to under perform in the Premiership, many clubs have started planning to raid them and sign some of their most outstanding players.
Pickford who is just 23, has shone very bright for the team this season, and he has been scouted by many of the top six teams in England.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have sent scouts to watch the England youth international on many occasions, but it is believed that Arsenal have the strongest interest in the teenager.
The Gunners scouted him in Sunderland’s 1-0 loss to Watford where the goal keeper pulled off some amazing saves to deny Watford more goals.
After the match, David Moyes praised the player for his outstanding qualities. According to him, Pickford is an outstanding young player who can now be seen as a matured professional because of his performances.
The Gunners are preparing to sign him as they consider him to be a long term replacement for Petr Cech.
