Arsenal is still very much in the hunt for AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar despite the French club’s reluctance to sell for any price.
Monaco have told Arsenal that Lemar is not for sale at any price, and they have even gone on to reject outrageous bids of £35 million and £40 million for the youngster who has just one full season of professional football under his belt, yet Arsene Wenger is refusing to give up.
After being priced out of a deal for youngster Kyllian Mbappe, the Gunners have made up their mind that they would sign his team mate, Lemar at whatever cost.
Daily Mail is reporting that the Gunners would look to sell some of their fringe players including Carl Jenkinson, Calum Chambers, Kieran Gibbs, Lucas Perez, Matheiu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud.
Jenkinson and Gibbs have been attracting the interest of several Premier League’s lower table teams, while Giroud is interesting Everton, Olympique Marseille, and Olympique Lyon. The Gunners hope that offloading these players would help the raise up to £80 million and make a bid that would be too ridiculous for Monaco to turn down.
