Arsenal is set to go back for the signature of Russia international Aleksandr Golovin. The 21-year-old has been on Arsenal’s radar for some seasons now, and the Gunners are set to follow up their interest in the Eastern European with a bid.
Golovin is one the best Russian players coming through right now and Arsene Wenger wants him as a replacement for the crocked Santi Cazorla.
Cazorla has injured himself again with many believing his recent injury setback means he may have played his last game for the Gunners.
Golovin played for Russia at the recently concluded Confederations Cup, and Arsene had wanted to go and personally watch him playing but could not make it.
The Frenchman instead asked respected scout David Sasun to watch the 21-year old who scored three goals and assisted a further four for CSKA Moscow last season.
Wenger got great reviews from his scout but asked him to still keep an eye on the player’s performance so that he can get his judgement before making a decision.
The Gunners are expected to make a starting bid in the region of £10 to £15 million for the players signature.
