Arsenal are the only team interested in signing Lyon’s top scorer Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman has been one of the most consistent strikers in Europe over the past three seasons as he has notched up at least 20 league goals in each of those seasons.
Liverpool, Tottenham, and Atletico Madrid were thought to be in the running for the striker’s signature this summer, but it seems the other teams have moved on to pursue other targets.
Arsenal may not qualify for the Champions League next season, which may be a discouragement to Lacazette, who wants to play in Europe’s top competition.
The player recently said it was time for him to move on to another club.
It is believed that Lyon value him at £50 million, after the club’s president vowed that they would do whatever it takes to keep him beyond this summer.
If the competition for his signature remains low and the player asks the club to allow him to leave, this could drive down his price to as low as £25 million.
Lacazette has scored 24 goals already this season.
