Reports from Spain claim that Arsenal have been aggressively scouting Malaga youngster, Pablo Fornals. The youngster is having a good season, and has been hailed as the new Santi Carzola.
The 21 years old has caught the eyes of several European teams this season, but the Gunners are reportedly the team most interested in the youngster.
Fornals developed his career at the teams of Villarreal and Castellon before moving to Malaga as a 16 year old. He is adept at playing in various midfield positions including defensive midfield as well as right central midfield. This versatility is one of the reasons the Gunners want to sign him.
He has scored five goals and made three assists this term. He has also made appearances for the Spanish Under-21 and senior national teams.
The Gunners are unlikely going to renew Santi Carzola’s contract this summer and a move for Fornals could see him take up the midfield spot that would be left by his compatriot.
Malaga are keen to keep him for the nearest future, but it seems they would not reject a big money offer, and the player’s desire to continue his development elsewhere.
