Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stepped up his interest in AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to the latest transfer reports coming from the press.
Wenger has long been an admirer of the Colombian international and has sent his scouts out to Italy to monitor the 30-year-old forward.
Arsenal will face competition from Bacca’s former club Seville, who are also reported to be interested in signing him.
According to the report, Milan has decided to allow the striker to depart this summer, they no longer see him as part of their plans next season and are now willing to listen to offers.
Bacca is an experienced forward but at 30 years of age he cannot be seen as a long-term OPTION, he certainly cannot be seen as a possible replacement for Alexis Sanchez and questions will be asked about this potential signing.
Wenger has yet to be confirmed as manager for next season and it is unlikely that any deal will be agreed until the Frenchman’s status at the club has been settled.
