It is widely expected that Arsenal flop Andrey Arshavin will leave the Gunners this coming January and a few clubs have expressed their interest in the little Russian, but it could be Reading who secure his signature after fellow countryman Pavel Pogrebnyak urged him to join the Royals.
Arshavin has struggled for game time at the Emirates of late and there is a chance that he could be persuaded to join the Royals’ efforts to preserve their Premier League status.
“It’s Arshavin who has to make the decision,” Pogrebnyak told www.rg.ru.
“Anton Zingarevich knows him well enough without listening to my opinion, as he is from St Petersburg.
“Andrey is a master and there is no doubt that it would be great to see him at Reading”. (Sky Sports)
Arshavin has not been in any kind of form for the last few seasons now, and many Arsenal fans are fed up of his continued failure to put in any kind of performance. So Reading could step in and sign him this winter transfer window, and he could actually be a good addition to their squad.
