Arsenal star makes it clear he wants to leave for Champions League football

Arsenal’s summer is threatening to go from good to bad with news that one of their top stars wants out.

The Gunners have enjoyed a good start to their preseason so far after securing the signing of Alexandre Lacazette and winning their first two preseason games, but they would be disappointed to learn that Alexis Sanchez is serious about leaving them for a club playing in the Champions League this summer.

The Gunners missed out on Europe’s top competition next season after finishing outside the top four for the first time in 20 years. This has seen the prospect of tying down their two most valuable players, Mesut Ozil, and Alexis Sanchez fade.

While Ozil looked to have made up his mind to remain, Sanchez does not have the same intention and recently told the Chilean media that it was very important for him personally to play in the Champions League.

According to the attacker, who has scored more than 70 goals for the Gunners since he joined them from Barcelona three years ago, he has made up his mind to leave them for a club playing in the Champions League, but it remains for the club to decide to grant him his wish or not.

The Gunners have made it clear he would not be joining a rival with Chelsea and Manchester City the only teams currently keen on taking him on.
