Despite being told he can leave the Emirates this summer, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is determined to stay put and fight his way back into Arsene Wenger’s plans.
Since his stunning breakthrough season of 2010/2011 season, Wilshere has experienced a steady decline, as injuries and poor form continues to ravage his promising career.
Still 25, Wilshere believes he still has a lot to offer and can put his injury woes behind him this summer.
The Gunners have been entertaining offers for his signature, but there has been a shortage of takers, as Italian side, Sampdoria remains the only team to have made an offer for his signature.
The Serie A side tabled an offer rising to £7 million for Wilshere, who has been valued at £50 million at the height of his career. The Gunners want at least £20 million for his signature and may offer him a new deal this summer to protect his market value.
Wilshere’s reluctance to move boils down to him starting a family in London already. He got married to his long term partner this summer, and they already have a little son together. Wilshere would be open to a move to another Premier League team playing in London, but since none is willing to take a chance on him, he has decided to fight for his future at Arsenal.
