Arsenal star so desperate to join rivals that he would take a pay cut

Alexis Sanchez does not mind taking a lesser weekly salary to fulfil his desire of playing for Pep Guardiola again.

The Chilean is currently having a contract face off with the Gunners as he has asked to leave with just one year left on his current deal with the north London club, but the Gunners remain determined to see him finish his contract if he does not want to sign a new one.

Sanchez has told Arsenal that he wants to play in the Champions League after missing out on many trophies during his time as a professional. He is mindful of the fact that he would be 29 years old by December this year and this is the perfect time for him to get a dream move to another team.

Arsenal does not want to do business with a rival, but all other suitors like Bayern Munich, Juventus, and PSG have been priced out of a deal by the Chilean’s salary demand.

However, Sanchez is willing to take even less than the £300,000 per week being offered by Arsenal to move to Manchester City.

He is currently enjoying an extended break after participating at the Confederations Cup and will hold final talks with the Gunners to see if he can get his wish when he returns. If the Gunners remain adamant, he would run down his current contract and join City on a free next season.
