Manchester City has turned up the heat on Arsenal in their bid to sign Alexis Sanchez this summer.
The Citizens have reportedly agreed to pay Sanchez the £400,000 per week he is demanding from the Gunners.
The South American attacker caused a major outrage yesterday when he posted an image of himself on social media claiming to be sick, just when his manager told reporters that he would be reporting to training on Sunday.
Many of the Gunners’ fans feel they have had enough and would like the club to get rid of the Chilean. But Arsene Wenger is adamant that he will not be sold to a rival.
If the Frenchman wants to keep his word, he has two options, meet Sanchez’s £400,000 per week demand or allow him see out the final year of his contract and leave for free next summer, Manchester City is ready to do the former.
Pep Guardiola is desperate to reunite with Sanchez who scored 30 goals in all competition for Arsenal last season, and Etihad chiefs are ready to help him get the attacker.
Manchester City has prepared a deal worth £320,000 per week for Sanchez that includes some performance related add ons taking the total wage to £400,000 per week. This is a challenge to the Gunners to either match that offer or allow him to leave.
Arsenal will try to convince Sanchez to stay for the last time when he resumes for preseason.
