Reports have claimed Arsenal target Georginio Wijnaldum has hinted at a desire to link up with former national team manager Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.
The PSV Eindhoven midfielder has admitted his intention to move to a bigger league to challenge himself.
And having worked previously with Van Gaal in the Dutch national team, Wijnaldum says it’s a partnership he’s keen to reignite.
‘Of course I would like to work with him [Van Gaal] again,’ he said on the Sky Sports website.
‘He is a good trainer, and makes players better. I work really fine with him and he is a great man.
‘He gave me a chance and opportunity to play in a World Cup after seven months out injured, and I am thankful for that. He helped me get my confidence back.’
