Arsenal have been given the all clear to seal a deal for Marseille star Giannelli Imbula, according to the Daily Express website.
Reports in the media claimed lately that Valencia were believed to be lining up a summer move for the 22-year-old, but they have ended their pursuit of Imbula after completing a move for Rodrigo Caio from Sao Paulo.
And that has led to talk that the Gunners could make a move.
Marseille president Vincent Labrune revealed earlier in the week that the club need to offload a player before the end of the month due to financial regulations.
“We have to sell someone before the 30th June in line with what we agreed with the DNCG,” he said. “We have to balance the books.
