Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour believes Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic would be “the perfect player” for the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger is under-fire following last week’s horror shows against Anderlecht and Swansea but Parlour reckons Matic could add much-needed steel and organisation to Arsenal’s midfield.
He told Sky Sports: “I think he needs Matic from Chelsea, he’d be the perfect player to have just sit in front of the back four and that’s what he’s got to look at.
“That’s what he’s got to look at, he’s got to look at that defensive midfielder, he’s got to look at another centre half and buy defensive players now and good characters as well who can really get into players.
“I used to play in front of Lee Dixon and Tony Adams and when we were up against it they would put you in positions, exactly where they wanted you to be.
“That’s where they’ve got to get better.”
