Arsenal v Tottenham – Statistics tell us Lacazette is more clinical than Kane

The North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham is just a few days away and it promises to be a classic. Arsenal has home advantage and Tottenham is a team in fantastic form.

There will be a load of head to head battles between the players and it is hard to pick a particular matchup that could determine who emerges on top.

Who will perform better in goal, Cech or Lloris? who will be the dominating playmaker Ozil or Eriksen? and who will be the more clinical in front of the goal, Lacazette or Kane?

Obviously, goals can come from any number of players but the main strikers are the most likely source and we have decided to have a quick look at the season stats of Lacazette and Kane to see how they compare.

Passes Per Match 20.6418.00

It is clear that Kane is the more prolific, he scores more in fewer games, has far more shots on goal and more on target, however, that only tells part of the picture.

Lacazette appears more clinical, he receives far fewer chances but gets more shots on target percentage-wise, he is far more accurate and makes more passes.

Kane is about quantity, the more chances he is allowed the more goals he will score, cut off his supply and you restrict his opportunities significantly, Lacazette does his scoring far more economically.

Kane represents the bigger danger simply because he gets more opportunities, curtail that and Arsenal may curtail the Premier Leagues leading scorer.
