Chelsea’s hopes of signing Alexis Sanchez has been dealt a major blow after Arsenal’s boss ruled out a sale to their London rivals.
Chelsea looked likely to sign the South American after he claimed on Wednesday that he was settled in London and only wanted to join a team with “winning mentality”
Prospective champions, Chelsea seem to fit that description, however they may need more than a winning mentality if they are to sign him from Arsenal.
Wenger was asked about the future of Mesut Ozil and Alexi Sanchez and replied that he believed the players want to stay at the London club.
Sanchez has been in a contract dispute with the club, and has refuse to sign a new deal believed to be worth around £180,000 per week, insisting that he wants to earn upwards of £250,000.
Chelsea would be willing to meet the player’s demand, however they might have to wait till the player’s contract run out if he is also keen to join them.
Arsenal would prefer to sell the Chilean to club’s outside England, with Juventus, Bayern Munich and Athletico Madrid also interested in the player.
