Arsenal fans would do well to expect just a few signings this summer if the words of their manager are to be believed.
The Gunners have had a rough season that exposed their inadequacies compared to their top four rivals, as they ended their season outside a Champions League place for the first time in 20 years.
Arsenal fans who have been promised a major summer overhaul would be expecting the incoming of several top players this summer, but their manager Arsene Wenger says that will not be the case.
The Frenchman signed a new two-year contract extension to stay at the Emirates and has been armed with a £100 million transfer war chest ahead of the new season but says he would not be using that money to bring in many players, according to Wenger, he expects to make a maximum of three signings.
Wenger says he wants to focus on the signing of quality players as he looks to take the Gunners back into the top four of English football next season.
Signing only a few players means that the Gunners must try to keep hold of their two contract rebels Alexis Sanchez, and Mesut Ozil. Sanchez has reportedly been offered a new deal in the region of £270,000 per week while Ozil has received a contract extension worth £250,000 per week, but the duo is yet to sign the deal.
