Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger has reportedly asked the club’s hierarchy for a new two years contract. Despite coming under severe scrutiny from the club’s fans recently, the French man still wants to stay at the club for at least two more years.
He is reported to have made his desire known to the club during a meeting last week. The Club’s hierarchy have indicated that they want the manager’s future to be a joint decision and are in no rush to make a decision.
Wenger’s demand is a remarkable one, particularly given the current form of the club as well as the hostility between the club’s fans and the Frenchman.
He was thought to be on his way out of the club after a section of the club’s supporters turned on him, but Wenger believes he is the best person to turn the club’s fortune around.
Sunday’s game against Man City is coming at a very important time. A victory for the gaffer will help his cause, however a loss will spell doom for him, with more fans likely to join the group calling for his sack.
