Chelsea are bracing themselves for the transfer market, but just as they plan to add more players to their team, they are aware that clubs will attempt to sign some of their title winning team members this summer, and it seem that Marcos Alonso would be one of those players that could leave.
Reports from Spain are claiming that Barcelona are eyeing a move for the left-back. The Catalans are yet to name a successor to their current manager, but they are going ahead to identify players that they think fits them.
Alonso is one of Antonio Conte’s trusted men and helped the Italian clinched the league title at the first time of asking this season. However, his performances have still not earned him a call up to the Spanish senior national team.
Per the source, if Alonso wants to play in the 2018 World cup in Russia, he needs to be playing in the Spanish top flight so that national team coach Julen Lopetegui can have a closer look at him.
Alonso is currently contracted to Chelsea until the summer of 2021.
