Tottenham centre back Kevin Wimmer is reported to be wanted by Borussia Dortmund if the reports in the media are true.
The Austrian’s future at Tottenham is now open to debate, he has never really held a first team spot at White Hart Lane and the chances are that he would jump at the chance of a move to a club like Dortmund.
Wimmer is a solid player, he is approaching his peak and will not want to be a bench warmer long term, a move away from Spurs is probably in his best interests, though maybe not Tottenham’s, who want to build on their squad depth, not deplete it.
This rumour does, if true, make sense for Borussia Dortmund, Wimmer would be a great addition to the squad at Westfalenstadion and would probably be better suited to their style of play.
If Borussia Dortmund meet Tottenham’s valuation then it is almost certain that they will seriously consider letting the 24 year old to leave, even though it would weaken the squad, no point keeping a player that wants to move on.
Wimmer joined Tottenham from FC Koln back in May 2015, he has started just 11 first team games and made two international appearances for Austria.
