Boss tells Spaniard he is free to sign for Liverpool

Liverpool are clear to sign Iker Casillas, after manager Rafael Benitez is believed to have told him he has no future at Real Madrid.

With Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea looking set for a move to the Bernabeu, it appears there is no place for World Cup winner Casillas at Madrid.

And the Metro website says Former Reds boss Benitez has told Casillas he is not part of his plans.

Despite Simon Mignolet improving after an extremely disappointing start to last season, Brendan Rodgers still appears to be monitoring Casillas’ situation.
