World Cup winner and Schalke captain Benedikt Howedes has revealed he wants a move to England.
Arsenal have been linked with the German international in the past and could now look to swoop for the defender.
Howedes, who won the World Cup with Germany last summer, has insisted that should he leave Schalke, he would only wish to go to the Premier League.
He told German newspaper BILD: “If I am to leave Schalke one day, I do not want to move clubs within Bundesliga.
“The club is too close to my heart to do so.
“I owe Schalke a lot, I have had a great experience during my time here.
“I really like being at Schalke.
“However, if I were to imagine moving abroad to experience a life in a foreign country, England would be my destination.”
