Arsenal’s failure to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions league has further thrown the future of some of their best players in doubt. One such player is contract-rebel Alexis Sanchez.
The Gunners have tried fruitlessly over the last couple of months to tie the Chilean to a new deal, but he has rejected all their offers. Although he looks like he wants to stay, the Gunners are finding it hard to meet his demand of £300,000 per week which would make him earn higher than the world’s most expensive player, Paul Pogba.
Several teams have been watching the contract impasse from afar and are said to be ready to pounce if they get the slightest encouragement. But German League champions, Bayern Munich are set to steal a march on those suitors who are delaying.
According to reports, the Germans are set to open talks with the north Londoners with regards to the transfer of the Chilean’s signature.
The Bavarians believe that the lure of Champions League football would help them get the attacker.
