Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce, has admitted that if Chelsea come with a big money offer for Jonathan Kodjia, it would be impossible for them to stop him from joining the Londoners.
Kodjia joined Villa last summer, and has been so impressive that he has been credited with taking villa close to the playoff spots in the Championship.
The Ivorian has attracted a lot of attention and looks likely to sign for a Premier league team next season. Chelsea want to sign a credible back up option for Diego Costa. They almost signed Swansea striker, Fernando Llorente during the January transfer window, but where knocked back by Swansea who wanted the striker to stay and help them preserve their Premier League Status.
Kodjia, 27, is on a good goal scoring run, just like his team. He is the club’s leading scorer, and has scored 18 goals in just over 30 appearances this season. Villa have won seven of their last 8 matches and Kodjia has scored seven goals in that period.
Reacting to the report that Chelsea are planning to sign the player, Steve Bruce indicated that he expects the player to honor the four years contract he signed just last summer. However, he went on to admit that if the Blues make a huge bid, the club would consider it, because everybody has their price.
