Chelsea flop Alvaro Morata still has a good chance of making the Spain World Cup squad according to his international manager Julen Lopetegui.
Morata has failed to live up to the hype that surrounded his signing and his goal on Sunday against Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-final was his first in 2018.
On the back of his dip in form, Morata has found himself dropped from the Spain squad for the upcoming games against Germany and Argentina.
But that does not mean that Morata cannot force his way back into the team as clearly expressed by Lopetegui.
“Of course Morata has a lot of possibilities to go to the World Cup and he knows it,” he told El Partidazo de COPE on Monday.
“He has to show these months the player he is inside.”
So it is now up to Morata, he can make the team but he has to start justifying his transfer fee and hype and show that he is a player that can score everywhere at the highest level.
