Reports in the English media are claiming that Diego Costa could be on his way back to Spain.
According to the report, Atletico Madrid has opened up talks with Costa about a stunning return to his former club.
It is hardly a secret that the Brazilian-born striker wants to leave Stamford Bridge and it was thought that his most likely destination would be China, especially after the winter transfer window when he nearly moved to the far east.
Atletico for their part believes that Costa would prefer a move back to Madrid rather than China and have asked Chelsea to keep them informed about the players status.
Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian F.C. are the other reported interested party and they can outbid Atletico all day long, they are not afraid to throw some serious money around and they also feel that they have a verbal agreement in place with the 28-year-old.
But, Costa has apparently told close friends that he would be keen on a return to his former club, which has given the Champions League semi-finalists hope that they will win the battle to sign the Spanish international.
