Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, has warned potential suitors of their central defender Kalidou Koulibaly, that they will only sell the player when they find a suitable replacement for him.
The Senegalese defender has been tracked by several of Europe’s top sides this season, but Chelsea and Everton remain the most serious of his suitors. The Blues tried to sign the player last summer, when Antonio Conte joined them as their manager. He reportedly made the defender his number 1 transfer target, but Napoli did not sell.
He was the subject of a £47 million offer from Chelsea last summer, but Napoli rejected it on the grounds that they don’t have an adequate replacement for the defender at the time.
Everton also met his £60 million release clause last summer, but the bid was rejected.
Both teams are still going back for the 25 years old this summer, but they would only stand a chance of signing him, if Napoli finds a suitable replacement.
