Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto could be on his way to the Premier League this summer after attracting the interest of Chelsea and Manchester United.
Roberto caught the eye of several sides last season when he scored the winning goals against PSG.
Roberto was a mainstay in Luis Enrique’s line up last season, but he has fallen down the pecking order under Ernesto Valverde after the new man signed Nelson Semedo.
Roberto has been used largely as a right back in Barcelona so far but prefers to play as a midfielder, however, the new manager does not seem to trust him in any midfield role, and it is believed that if they sign any new midfielder he would leave.
Chelsea needs a midfielder as well as a new full back that is why Antonio Conte wants to sign him.
Jose Mourinho failed in his attempt to sign Monaco’s Fabinho, who can also play in midfield and defence, and believes Roberto would provide the same value to him.
Roberto came through the ranks at Barcelona but could be sold for £36 million. This amount won’t discourage either of Manchester United or Chelsea.
