Chelsea has been given the go-ahead to sign young Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso, after Juventus pulled out of the deal for the youngster.
Tolisso has been a revelation for Lyon this season and attracted the attention of many big teams. His performances got the attention of the handlers of the French national team who offered him a debut for the national team last year.
Juventus were favoured to land the midfielder this summer after those performances, but the Italians have now turned their attention somewhere else.
According to reports from Italy, Juventus have prioritised a move for AS Monaco star Fabinho over Tolisso. The Champions League finalists consider Fabinho a more rounded player with proven experience than Tolisso, paving the way for Chelsea to sign the midfielder.
Juventus’ Italian rivals Inter Milan are also strong contenders for the player’s signature, but with no European football next season, it is expected that Tolisso will snub them for a move to Chelsea.
His current team are also desperate to keep hold of him and have told suitors that they have no intention of letting any of their star players leave them this summer.
