Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has hailed Eden Hazard as the Blues “best player”, despite the attacker missing a penalty in the 1-1 draw with Maribor.
The Blues were unable to win the game despite having a number of chances on goal, and it was down to Nemanja Matic to salvage a point after Maribor took the lead early in the second half.
Mourinho believes that Hazard was Chelsea’s key performer on the night, and has praised the winger for his consistent contributions throughout the season.
As quoted on the Sky Sports website, he said: “When players play so well like Hazard did, he was fantastic and by far the best player of my team.
“Players like this can miss a penalty and still be the best in my team.”
