It has been reported that Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma is a wanted man as Hamburg sporting director is planning talks with the blues which will see the defender move to Germany on a permanent basis.
Bruma is at present on loan at the Bundesliga club for the second consecutive season.
Arnesen was director of youth and development at Stamford Bridge when Bruma joined Chelsea from Feyenoord for £100,000 back in 2007. The 21-year-old has since gone on to be capped by Holland but has made only 10 appearances for Chelsea’s first team.
Arnesen, who took his new role at Hamburg in 2011, was instrumental in convincing Chelsea to loan him out but now he hopes to persuade them to agree a transfer or another loan.
Arnesen said: “Bruma has been playing very well, I like everything about him, he is composed, good in the air. All in all, I am very satisfied with his play.” (Evening Standard)
The lad is pretty good and could be a great defender in the next few years. But many people have forgotten that he is a Chelsea player and it is probably best if he stays where he is and makes a name for himself out in Germany as he will not get much of a chance at Stamford Bridge
