Chelsea flop being chased by Spanish clubs.
Oriol Romeu has not the kind of impact that many expected he would when he joined Chelsea from FC Barcelona last year and has barely been seen in a blues shirt this season. So it was inevitable that he was going to look for a way out of London and it has emerged that two Spanish sides want his services this coming January.
“Espanyol and Valencia want to take Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu back to Spain.
“Romeu, 21, left Barcelona for Stamford Bridge 18 months ago but has struggled to command a regular place.
“His agent Magico Diaz is understood to have held talks with Valencia at the weekend but they could be edged out by Espanyol.”(Daily Mail)
Young Romeu has talent but he has failed to get enough game time to show the world what he can really do. He hasn’t adapted to the pace and tempo of the English game and a move back to his homeland could just be what the star needs to develop into a good player.
