With the deadline day approaching some surprising approaches have been reported and we may be experiencing one of the most exciting ends to a transfer window this week.
After appealing to his club’s board to sign more players, it appears as though Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been handed a huge transfer kitty to bring in some new players this week, and he is set to splash on some Premier League stars.
Star Sports is reporting that the Italian has held talks with Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez as he looks to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
The Algerian has been the target of AS Roma throughout this summer but the Italians have fallen short of the Foxes’ valuation and he looked set to stay.
But, the Blues have reportedly agreed to sign him for £46 million which would be £4 million short of what the Foxes are demanding, but Conte is confident that he would get his man.
Mahrez is the third Leicester City player to be linked with Chelsea as the Blues have targeted both Daniel Drinkwater and Jamie Vardy, but it seems they have settled for the former PFA player of the year.
