Eden Hazard has defied medical predictions and stepped up his recovery from a fractured ankle ahead of the new season. The Belgian had been sidelined after picking up an injury on international duty during the summer and was expected to be out of action until September.
But he has made a swift recovery and may be ready for some preseason action before the beginning of the new season.
The Blues star has returned to training at Cobham and was seen being put through his paces, doing ball work and dribbling through cones, while the rest of the Chelsea squad are away for the preseason.
Some reports are claiming that Hazard has stepped up his recovery in a bid to force through a move to Real Madrid, as he has repeatedly refused to rule out a move to the Los Merengues claiming no footballer would turn down the chance of playing for such an illustrious club.
It is currently unclear at what point Antonio Conte would integrate Hazard into his plans for the new season.
