Chelsea have finished plans on an improved deal for their Italian manager, Antonio Conte. The Italian has had a stunning debut season in England as he closes in on winning the Premier League and FA Cup double at the first time of asking.
The Blues finished last season tenth in the league standing, and if Conte had qualified them for the Champions League this season, they would have been satisfied, but the Italian has exceeded that expectation as he closes in on the league title. The Blues hope to tie him down to a new long term deal that could see him stay at Stamford Bridge for the next five years.
Chelsea are also closing in on summer targets, Southampton’s Virgil Van Dijk, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez. These are players that Antonio Conte has identified as the key additions he wants to make in his team for next season. It is believed that the Blues will try to sign these players as soon as possible to make Conte see their willingness to invest in their playing squad.
