Chelsea’s search for John Terry’s replacement is ongoing, and the Blues have taken their search light to Germany. According to the press, the Blues have made an enquiry for Germany and Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng.
Boateng spent the 2010/2011 season in the Premier League with Manchester City but left to join Bayern Munich after just one season. The Defender has since turned himself into one of the world’s finest defenders and helped the German giants stamp their authority both home and abroad.
Now Antonio Conte wants to bring him back to England. Per the source, Conte has told Chelsea’s board that Boateng is one of the players that can comfortably replace John Terry at Stamford Bridge.
Virgil Van Dijk and Leonardo Bonucci remain Chelsea’s first choice, but Boateng is also very highly regarded at the Bridge.
The Blues are understandably desperate, as they have allowed Nathan Ake join Bournemouth, meaning they have lost two defenders this summer, with a return to Champions League next season, they have to quickly sign at least two defenders to cover that void.
