Reports from Italy claim Chelsea have not given up on signing Argentine Midfielder Lucas Biglia, from Lazio. The midfielder’s contract will expire at the end of next season, and talks of a new deal has stalled.
Conte has been a keen admirer of the Argentine since the time he was the manager of Juventus and is said to still want the veteran.
Chelsea tried to sign the player last season but were told he was indispensable to Lazio. However, now that the player is approaching the end of his deal, it is believed that Lazio are ready to sell as they don’t want to lose him for nothing after next season.
Biglia is 31, and has always been linked with a move to the Premiership, he also has interest from China right now, but the player does not seem to think his time in Europe has come to an end just yet.
He would consider a move to another European team, should they offer him higher wages and guarantee him an important role.
Despite the fact that talks of new deal with Lazio is expected to start next week, Chelsea can hope to get the player if they offer him an attractive wage.
