Chelsea’s bid to sign a world class attacker this summer has suffered a major blow after the Blues had their bid for Juventus attacker Gonzalo Higuain rejected.
According to Italian sources, the Blues had made a record £88 million for the Argentine attacker, but the Old Lady turned it down immediately. This is the latest setback for the Blues who are still struggling to offload Diego Costa, although they have informed him not to return for preseason.
Per the source, the Blues had also made a record £60 million bid for Higuain’s team mate, Alex Sandro which was also turned down by the Italians. The Blues had expected to have an easy ride when they turned to the former club of their present manager, but have been frustrated so far.
However, Juventus still maintain a strong interest in the Blues midfielder, Nemanja Matic as it appears that Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is not keen on leaving the Reds.
Chelsea also registered an interest in Premier League winner Sergio Aguero last night, and they seem to be making progress as Pep Guardiola remains open to the idea.
