Arsenal have suffered a major setback in their pursuit of Monaco midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko after the player decided against a move to the Emirates despite holding talks with Arsene Wenger.
Reports indicate that the French superstar star met with the Arsenal boss in November about a possible move to North London this summer, but has turned down the club’s advances.
This has boosted the chances of Chelsea signing the highly rated 22 year old, with Antonio Conte keen to partner him and fellow French star N’golo Kante in a powerful midfield engine for the club next season.
Despite reports saying that Chelsea has already seen a 35 Million Pound bid accepted by Monaco, it is believe that the French club would be unwilling to let the midfielder go for less than 50 Million pounds.
It is a blow for the Gunners, but not unexpected, not with the turmoil surrounding Arsene Wenger and the situation needs to be clarified as soon as possible if they are attract top talent this summer.
Monaco are set for a busy summer, with many of their players such as Kylian Mbappe, who they value at 120 million Pounds attracting attention from European heavy weights.
