Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has told the club’s hierarchy that he wants to have Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez in his team next season. The Italian is discussing a new contract with the London club and as expected, summer targets are being discussed. Conte is said to have submitted a list of his targets to the club and Sanchez is top of the list.
Sanchez has been frustrated by a lack of progress since joining the Arsenal three years ago and is on the lookout for a new challenge in the summer.
The Chilean has 15 months left on his Arsenal contract and this could prove difficult for Chelsea to secure a transfer from their rivals. Arsenal would prefer to sell to a European side not competing in the premier league, if they cannot convince the South American to sign a new Contract.
Sanchez has rejected a new Contract offer from Arsenal, insisting that he wants a salary of £250,000, which is non-negotiable. He has attracted the interest of rich European sides such as Inter Milan, Juventus, and PSG who would be able to offer him his desired salary.
Though Arsene Wenger has indicated that contract talks with the Chilean will resume in the summer, it seems the Chilean has decided to leave the Emirates at the end of the season.
