Chelsea’s boss, Antonio Conte is reportedly a firm admirer of Arsenal’s English winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Italian loves the midfielders direct style of play and has informed his club’s board to make a move for the player if decides to leave the Emirates at the end of the season.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has just 18 months left on his current deal and is yet to receive a new contract offer, with reports continuing to circulate that the Gunners are looking to offload the player.
With a return to the Champions League secured, Chelsea wants to strengthen their team for the hectic fixtures that they would have next season.
Chamberlain is versatile, can play on the wings and in central midfield and also comes with the attraction being a homegrown player that would help fill the quota for the the Champions League.
Reports claim that the midfielder is among the players expected to leave Arsenal this season, with Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, among others also included in the group of players that may have to make way for fresh faces to come in.
