Chelsea’s quest to sign a new attacker has seen them being linked with a move for former Manchester United attacker Javier Hernandez.
The Mexico all-time goal scorer had a hugely successful four years between 2010 and 2014 with Manchester United, before joining German side Bayer Leverkusen.
The Blues are still devastated by the news that their number one striker target seems very likely to join Manchester United. It is now up to them to find another target with Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata their preferred option.
However, Real Madrid appears reluctant to sell Morata, and have slapped a price tag of £79 million on his head. This price was why Manchester United turned to Lukaku.
Antonio Conte still wants Morata, but he believes the Spaniard would need time to settle in the Premier League, hence the interest in Chicharito.
Chicharito looks a possible option with reports claiming that he has a £15 million release clause currently written into his contract.
Chicharito did not have a very productive 2016/2017 season compared to his first season in Germany and remains a major gamble for the Blues if he joins them.
