Chelsea have reacted swiftly to their manager’s admission that he is not content with his transfer business so far, as they look to wrap up a deal for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
The midfielder is currently in the final year of his current Arsenal deal and has rejected their offer of a new deal, as he is looking for £120,000 per week.
Star Sports is revealing that Chelsea has made a fresh bid of £35 million for his signature. This is £10 million increase to the original £25 million they had bid before now.
Chamberlain was used as a wingback at Arsenal last season, but he wants to play as a midfielder, a position Antonio Conte would gladly offer him at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool still has an interest in Chamberlain, but he is not a priority now as they look to stop Philippe Coutinho from joining Barcelona.
Arsene Wenger remains resolute in his desire not to sell any Gunner to a rival. The Frenchman would rather allow the player run down his contract rather than be sold by Arsenal.
