Chelsea has moved swiftly into action in securing the replacement for the former second choice, Asmir Begovic who joined long-term suitors Bournemouth this week.
The Bosnian has long been a target of the south coast club who tried hard but unsuccessfully to secure a move for him during the January transfer window. After finally sealing the move, his departure has left a huge gap to be filled in the Blues first team.
Antonio Conte who was very reluctant to let Begovic go has now set his sight of finding a replacement for the Bosnian.
According to the British media, PSG’s second choice keeper, Alphonse Areola is the player that Conte wants to replace Begovic.
The 24-year-old France youth international made 15 appearances for PSG last season but is still considered only an alternative to first choice Kelvin Trapp, and he is said to be open to a new challenge.
Conte hopes that Chelsea winning the league title, and offering him improved terms on his current deal with PSG would persuade him to join them.
