New Chelsea attacker, Alvaro Morata could have been a Tottenham player if the north Londoners did not have Harry Kane.
According to Mauricio Pochettino, who was talking about his club’s lack of activity this summer, he spoke to Morata about joining him at White Hart Lane, but the Spaniard asked him what he needed him for when he had Kane.
Kane has developed into one of the most lethal attackers in the Premier League over the past few seasons and has seen other attackers running scared of joining him at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham signed Dutch man Vincent Janssen last summer to compete with Kane, however, despite Kane’s absence in many games through injuries, he roared back and won the top goal scorer of the division last season, Janssen struggled for goals.
Alvaro Morata ended up signing for Chelsea where he was sure to be the first choice as they have banished Diego Costa from the first team. He has started his Blues career on a rather slow note, but he will be looking to pick up soon as Chelsea look to defend their Premier League title.
