Chelsea’s quest to banish the ghost of losing Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United continues as the Blues struggle to sign an attacking player.
Chelsea had made Lukaku their top target for the summer, but the Belgian chose to join Manchester United instead, and although they have signed Antonio Rudiger, and Tiemoue Bakayoko, what their manager really wants is an attacker.
They have been trying to sign Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, but their Spaniards are taking a high line, demanding an outrageous fee for the Spain international who is not even a first team member.
Spanish outlet, Don Balon is reporting that the Blues’ desperation has seen them offer a five-year deal to Atletico Madrid Belgian ace, Yannick Carrasco. The attacker is one of Atletico’s most important players and finished as their third best scorer last season.
The Blues are said to have offered to double his current wage if he agrees to join them. The Belgian is said to have had his head turned and wants to know if his club has plans to increase his wage or not.
